Larger CNC lathe turret option added

November 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

For machining complex parts or carrying out long periods of unmanned machining, a 20-tool station turret can now be fitted as an option to Mori Seiki NL series of CNC lathes

Mori Seiki UK informs users that it has added a large 20-tool station turret option to its NL1500 and NL2000 Series of high-rigidity, high-precision CNC lathes. Using a larger 20-station turret allows longer periods of unmanned machining - with ’sister tools’ - say for night operation. Or, more complex workpieces can be machined without having to change tools in the turret.
The company said that its NL Series is one of its most successful products.

Since the release of the NL series in 2004, Mori Seiki, Japan, has sold around 7,000 units.

The NL Series’ high-rigidity structure was achieved through structural analysis and offers stable cutting.

Mori Seiki developed 20-station turret specifications for the NL1500 and the NL2000 Series to provide quicker set-ups, longer unattended running and machining more complex jobs.

Mori Seiki said that by using BMTTM (Built-in Motor Turret) for milling specifications and a high-rigidity, compact tooling system (which has good sales records with the NT and NZ Series), it has achieved machining ability and versatility, which match those of machining centres.
